In order to know how K-Pop gained such a big popularity, it is good to take a look at history of K-pop.
1989 SM Entertainment
Soo Man Lee founds established the company where it becomes the largest and successful company in Korean Pop industry.
1992 Kpop is Born
Seo Taiji and The Boys became a the popular group, The group applied American style of music into their music.
1997 JYP Entertainment
Kpop artist Jin Young Park established the entertainment company 'JYP Entertainment' which produced big stars such as Rain, Wonder Girls, 2PM, Miss A, and 2AM.
1998 Kpop Rises
The SM group, H.O.T. reach the top in Taiwanese charts. Also, K-drama, film starts to gain fanbases in East Asia.
1998 YG Entertainment
Hyun Suk Yang, a former member of Seotaeji and the Boys, establish the entertainment company 'YG Entertainment' which produce Big Bang, 2NE1, Epik High, Psy.
2001 K-Pop tops in Japan's music industry
SM artist BoA reach the top in Japan's Oricon chart and begins the trend of K-Pop groups in Japan and developing popularity.
2011 The New Triple Alliance
The Three Big companies (YG, SM, JYP) for United Asia Management.
2012 Gangnam Style
The song 'Gangnam Style' reached the most viewed video on YouTube and gained more popularity of K-Pop not only in Asia, but also all over the world.
